Gary Beacom – Ice Skater and Choreographer

Gary Beacom is a ground-breaking Canadian figure skater, choreographer and author. He is the 1983 and 1984 Canadian silver medallist, Olympian and the winner of 1988 World Professional Championships.

Ice skating legend and pioneer, Gary Beacom is renowned for him unique signature skating style, improvisations and intricate choreography on ice.

Gary and Olga Maloney first met in 1983 at the international ice skating competition in Moscow. As the producer of Peacock Lake on, Olga then approached Gary in 2017 to perform the leading role in the production and he immediately agreed.

Since Peacock Lake, Olga worked in collaboration with Gary and Balbir Singh on several productions on and off the ice, which were performed in Billingham, including The Boy with the Roller Blades and the flagship performance of The Creative Spirit of John Curry in 2019.
