Introduction

Jayne Blacklock is an artist and illustrator based out of her studio at Ushaw College. Her career began as a designer in the fashion industry and her work is still heavily influenced by a love of colour, pattern and texture. Working in a range of mediums with coloured inks, oil pastels and acrylics amongst her favourites, much of her work adopts a mixed media approach and is inspired by the natural world, especially the people and places she loves. As well as working on commissions and her own projects, she works as a freelance art teacher, currently teaching adult art courses at Ushaw College to a talented and inspirational bunch!
